Founded on September 15, 1922 the National Library of Belarus is one of the most unique designed libraries ever created. It is located in Minsk, Belarus. The library was originally part of Belarusian State and University. Four years later after being built in 1926 on May 14th the library broke away from the university and became an independent institution. From that current year the library created several other branches in Vitebsk, Mogilyev, and Gomel.

Background

The National Library of Belarus is the attraction of the city. Concerts and events are shown throughout the year and the building sits in a park located next to a river bank. The National Library of Belarus has 90 thousand library users and a yearly annual request for 3.5 million documents. On an average day the library has 2,200 visitors and delivers 12,000 documents.

Architecture
The building carries the shape of a rhombicuboctahedron. Which is a solid archimedean with four triangles located on top and bottom of an eighteen square face. The building was designed by Mihail Vinogradov and Viktor Kramarenko and it was founded back in 1922. Mihail Vinogradov and Viktor Kramarenko finished redesigning the building back in 2006. The building can seat an astonishing 2,000 patrons, has 22 floors and contains a conference room that can fit up to 500 people.

The National Library of Belarus is the central point for information throughout the entire country.
